Hi everyone! My name is Johanne Belot, a student at Concordia University in Montreal, PQ. I'm aspiring to become an English teacher, and I'm completing a bachelor's degree in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language). I may choose to travel around the world to share this knowledge. I have now been given the opportunity to learn about computers and how I can make use of them in the classroom with my students. My TESL330 class has made it possible for me to learn more about computers. This web page bares fruits of this newly acquired knowledge.
Can you tell where I'm from? What's my origin? That's right, I'm Haitian. Have you ever been to HAITI? It is a beautiful place to visit. I can give you a small taste... I went there during the summer and went back in January. Isn't it amazing how I can take you there just by having you sit in front of a computer screen and having you read along? The joys of learning through computers. Click away, and you'll wish to stay...

MUSIC
We really like to party out there. We enjoy music, and our music is called Konpa. There are many places where you can listen or dance to Konpa. It is best danced with a partner... but as you see, one may dance it alone...
If you are interested in finding out a little more about Konpa music and its artists, click here. ENJOY!
EDUCATION
We don't just party. Haitians who can afford it want the best education. One finds community colleges that share partnership with the United States, as well as Haitian institutes which stand on their own. We have many things here that we can bring over there. Here is a wonderful site with ideas to bring to children over there. Click here.
I now leave you with a little Haitian humour! Have fun and enjoy! Ha!Ha!Ha!
